Osa Holmes
Biography
Osa J Holmes MSED LCSW CCTP RRT-PR is a compassionate healer with more than 35 years of experience working with children, teens and adults in mental health, substance abuse and educational settings. Her focus and passion in the work is based in a belief that all therapy interventions should be of value to the recipient, and all wounds and conflicts can be lessened. Skilled attention to them in a safe environment is the key, and Osa has studied and practiced for decades to offer that skilled environment and facilitate the journey to resolution for the people she serves.
Osa is an experienced teacher, having presented classes for parents, infants, pre-school, and K-12 in the behavioral classroom. She has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Maine [UMF] as well as Indian River State College. She is a qualified Behavioral Health assessor, having provided comprehensive assessment of infants, children and adults for the Department of Human Services and Department of Juvenile Justice, and has served many times as an expert witness.
In her career, Osa has been on the front line of many innovative and progressive projects, piloting the Interactive TV [ITV] project at UMF [before the internet offered college classes], the Virtual Residential Program in Florida, Infant Mental Health programs, and trauma track overlays in substance abuse treatment. She has worked in rural outreach offices and in the middle of downtown. Her ability to be flexible to the needs of those she serves is evidenced by her success in such varied settings.
